Museum Fellowship Program
M21D began a Museum Fellowship Program in 2023 for recent masters degree graduates.
This program has launched with the School of Visual Art in New York (SVA) and lasts for approximately 9 months, on a rolling basis. The program provides coaching and activities for fellows to obtain practical skills, such as proposal crafting, budgeting, fundraising, and multi-format networking.
Fellows receive a stipend and support to translate their ideas and research into projects that will materialize in the world: from books and museum exhibitions, to programming events and public activities. The program will encourage experimental formats, and focus on design that advances social and environmental justice. It is a priority of the fellowship to help diversify the voices at the curatorial and editorial working tables.
Fellows experience a mix of in-person and remote interfaces focused on creating and submitting project proposals that can be put into action. Pitching opportunities will be available to venues within M21D’s global network and some projects may be produced in collaboration with M21D.
If you are an educator and would like your institution to participate, please contact William Myers at the address below. If you or the organization you work for might be interested to financially support a fellow, please also reach out.
