Nienke Binnendijk

Nienke initiates and leads efforts to accelerate our progress towards a circular economy. She co-founded the first bio-circular BlueCity Lab in Rotterdam, where pioneers in bio solutions can build their prototypes. Currently she works as Chain Director for Building Balance in Utrecht, creating strong coalitions to make bio-based building the new normal. Her community-building activities include hosting events, podcasts, workshops, and public presentations. Previously Binnendijk worked with the Recycled Island Foundation, Rotterdam Youth Culture Fund, and Culture Brigade. One day a week, she spends outside, with her hands in the ground, to immediately test knowledge and insights in practice.
